BushCare 2014

BUSHCARE’S Major Day Out was celebrated on the Fraser Coast this year with a special event at the River Heads Reserve on Saturday 13th September

The aim of the event was to make residents aware of the need to protect the bush, while learning about the role everyone can play in its continued care with talks and presentations by bushland and wildlife experts.

Tourist FM/BayCity Gold Radio was there to provide the public address equipment as well as broadcasting the proceedings live on the air



Billie Rustin (President of the River Heads Progress Association) opening BushCare with Local MP Mr Ted Sorensen (Middle) & Alan Baxter (Organiser) – An address & talk was later made by the mayor of Hervey Bay Mr Gerard O’Connell – Also talks and presentations were made by bushland and wildlife experts during the morning


Our portable outside broadcast equipment – Everything (including the public address systems) was battery powered

We used a total of four battery powered portable public address speakers – Two speakers were mounted on speaker stands and was used for the presentations & talks – The other two speakers were mounted on trollies & was used for guided tours around the reserve
